Hyderabad : Woman cheated 1 crore in the name of marriage by creating fake profile

Hyderabad. In Hyderabad, Telangana, the police arrested a woman who grabbed Rs 65 lakh from a US NRI in the name of marriage. The police were surprised on Monday when another youth reached the police station after receiving the news of the arrest of this woman. The young man said that with him, the woman has cheated one crore rupees by pretending to be married.
KPHB police arrested a 44-year-old woman named Malvika Devati in Matrimony fraud. The 33-year-old youth also showed the police a love chat with the woman on WhatsApp and telegram. Malvika told him that he trapped her in Premjal and grabbed her savings.
Malvika and her 22-year-old son Pranav Lalit Gopal were arrested by the Jubilee Hills Police on 27 May. Both of them were accused of grabbing Rs 65 lakh by an American NRI on the pretext of marriage. Police said that cases have also been registered against Malvika in Nallakunta Maredpally and CCS police station.
Police said that in 2018, Malvika came in contact through a Telugu Matrimony site. He created a fake profile on this site under the name Anu Pallavi Maganti. She described herself as an Indian-origin doctor and told her that she works in the US.
Malavika also convinced the young man that he was from a political family. In February 2018, she told the young man that her phone has been hacked and she is unable to operate her account. He asked for some money by telling him some helplessness. The young man transferred Rs 1.02 crore to Malvika’s account.

IT professional said that his monthly salary is Rs 80000. He saved these rupees from all expenses. Malvika grabbed this money from him by lying. Police said that a case has been registered against Malvika under various sections of the IPC, including the IT Act.
