Pune: Explosion in chemical factory, heard up to 5 km; 6 Fire brigade present
Pune. A chemical factory located in the Kurkumbh MIDC area of Daund area has exploded on Friday. The sound of the blast has been heard within a radius of about five kilometers. After the explosion, a fire has engulfed a part of the factory.
According to the fire brigade, the fire is in a company called Kusum Distillation and Refinery. Half a dozen vehicles of fire engines have reached the spot to extinguish the fire. At present, no casualty has been reported. How many people were in the factory during the blast, it is not yet clear.

The police has sealed the surrounding area. Barricading has been done so that people do not gather around the factory. It is also being ascertained whether there were employees in the factory at the time of the accident. Police has contacted the factory management about this.
