4th T20 / India won their second consecutive match in Super Over, New Zealand lost in Super Over for 7th time

It was the second consecutive T20 tie between India and New Zealand. On Friday, New Zealand were to score 166 runs to win the fourth T20 in Wellington, but could only manage 165 runs. In the Super Over, New Zealand gave India a target of 14 runs. Earlier in the last match, the New Zealand team lost in the Super Over. Then Rohit Sharma and Lokesh Rahul won the match by scoring 20 runs in the super over. In Wellington, New Zealand were to score 7 runs to win the last over, but Shardul Thakur conceded just 6 runs.

Earlier, New Zealand’s Colin Munro was dismissed for 64 runs. Kohli runs him out. Munro scored his fourth half-century of the career. Martin Guptill was dismissed for 4 runs. Rahul caught him off Bumrah’s ball. Tom Bruce (0) was bowled by Chahal. Manish Pandey Nenabad scored 50 runs for India. He scored a half-century in T20 after 2 years. This is the third half-century of his career. Lokesh Rahul contributed 39 and Shardul Thakur contributed 20 runs.

Kohli 11 and Iyer 1 run out

Virat Kohli scored 11 runs. He was caught by Bennett off Santner. Shreyas Iyer scored one run and was dismissed by Ish Sodhi. For New Zealand, Ish Sodhi took 3 wickets and Hamish Bennett took 2 wickets.

Samson flopped again

Earlier, Sanju Samson returned to the pavilion by scoring 8 runs. He was caught by Scott Kuglin off Santner. He hit a six. Samson was given a chance against Sri Lanka on 10 January. Then he was dismissed by scoring 6 runs. Shivam Dubey (12) was caught by Ish Sodhi at the hands of Tom Bruce. Washington Sundar (0) was bowled by Santner.

Williamson’s shoulder hurt

Earlier, New Zealand had a big shock. His captain Kane Williamson was ruled out of the match due to injury. His shoulder hurt. Williamson is replaced by Tim Southee. New Zealand made two changes to the team. William Bruce was replaced by Darrell Mitchell and Colin de Grandhomme replaced Tom Bruce.

Samson included in opener team

On the other hand, India made three changes to the team. Rohit Sharma, Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja were rested. The trio were replaced by Sanju Samson, Washington Sundar and Navdeep Saini in the playing eleven. Samson was included in the opener team in place of Rohit.

India lost both matches in Wellington

India played 2 matches so far at this ground and lost in both. The previous match was defeated by New Zealand by 80 runs on 6 February 2019. Earlier on 27 February 2009, Team India lost by 5 wickets. In the current series, India are leading an unassailable 3–0 lead. The team has a chance to do a clean sweep.

India got an unassailable 3-0 lead in the series
The first match of the series took place in Auckland, where the Indian team defeated New Zealand by 6 wickets. The second match also took place at the same ground, in which India won by 7 wickets with 15 balls remaining, while in the third match played in Hamilton, India scored 179 runs and the hosts could score the same number of runs. Rohit Sharma won the series for the first time in New Zealand by hitting two consecutive sixes in the super over after the match was tied.
