Consumer Forum verdict: Reliance Fresh fined 2.27 lakhs for taking more than print rate of hair oil and charging for carrybag

HARDA: A print on hair oil by Reliance Fresh, a store operated in the GP Mall premises, cost Rs 549 more than Rs 525 and Rs 6 for a carry bag was exorbitant. The Consumer Forum fined 2 lakh 27 thousand rupees convicted to Reliance Fresh. At the same time, out of this fine, 2 lakh rupees will have to be deposited in the Rogi Kalyan Samiti in the District Hospital. The complainant has been ordered to pay 25 thousand rupees for mental pain and 2 thousand rupees for a total of 27 thousand rupees in 30 days.

The lawyer of the complainant, Anil Jat, said that in view of the facts and circumstances, according to the Consumer Protection Act 1986, in such cases of infringing on the interests of the consumers and violating arbitrary duties, by cheating millions of consumers everyday Economic damage is done. Punishment is necessary for their prevention. Forum President Kanaklata Sonkar ordered Reliance Mall to give Rs 2 lakh to the Patient Welfare Committee at the District Hospital for the welfare of patients. He gave orders to pay 25 thousand rupees and Rs 2 thousand for mental pain. He also ordered to pay interest at the rate of 12 percent per annum for not giving the amount in 30 days.
