NEW DELHI: The government is going to make another register in the wake of the nationwide protests against NRC and NPR. This will be the National Business Register. It will have information about all the small and big businesses of every district. The information for this register will be collected on the basis of the seventh economic census currently released. This register will contain district-wise information of all business units and institutions engaged in the production / distribution of goods, services.It will be updated on a regular basis from data received from GST Network, Employees State Insurance Corporation, Employees Provident Fund Organization and Ministry of Corporate Affairs. Official sources said that the digital data collected in this register will improve the quality of national accounts.

- This register will provide input for the proposed annual survey of the service sector.
