October-December / HDFC Bank profit up 33% at Rs 7416 crore

Delhi. HDFC Bank posted a profit of Rs 7,416.5 crore in the October-December quarter. This is 32.8% higher than the December quarter profit of 2018 (Rs 5,585.9 crore). The bank’s income increased from Rs 30,811.27 crore to Rs 36,039 crore.
Net interest margin stabilized at 4.2%
Income from interest increased to Rs 14,172.9 crore. In the December quarter of 2018, there was an income of Rs 12,576.8 crore from interest. Other income increased from Rs 4,921.01 crore to Rs 6,669.3 crore. Bank’s advance grew at 19.9% and deposits at 25.2%. Net interest margin remained steady at 4.2%.
Provisioning of Rs 3043.56 crore for NPA
Gross NPAs increased from 1.38% to 1.42% and Net NPAs increased from 0.42% to 0.48% in the December quarter. The total amount of provision reached Rs 3,043.56 crore against Rs 2,211.53 crore. Of this, NPA is provisioning Rs 3,043.56 crore.
