CAA protestor raise questions over Shahrukh Khan’s silence
The Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC) have taken the entire nation by storm. While some people are out on streets protesting, some others have been making their voice heard on social media.
However, amidst all this, there has been a constant debate over why the superstars of Bollywood, especially the Khans – Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan have maintained a stoic silence over the issue.
Recently, the anti-CAA and NRC protestors in Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh locality aimed at superstar Shah Rukh Khan by using his own song ‘Tujhe Dekha Toh Yeh Jaana Sanam’ from ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’.
Through the reworked lyrics of the song, the protestors questioned SRK’s silence over the CAA-NRC issue.
According to reports, not only have they not expressed their opinion about the CAA and NRC, popular actors haven’t even tweeted about the gruesome violence against the students of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Jamia Millia Islamia and Aligarh Muslim University.
While this, other Bollywood actors including Ayushmann Khurrana, Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn have either taken a stand on the issue or maintained a safe neutral position on it. Meanwhile, on the work front, Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in Aanand L Rai’s ‘Zero’. The film also starred Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles. Although many reports about the actor’s upcoming films have been floating around, he is yet to officially announce his next.
