A case of raping by 3 priests and a driver has been held after taking 2 women hostage in the temple. The police have arrested Girdhari Nath, the chief Mahant of Guru Gyan Nath Ashram Balmiki Tirtha and one of his companions Varinder Nath.
According to the information, two women, residents of Talwandi Bharatwal and Batala village of Batala, came to Ramatirtha on Sunday. During this time, when she reached the Dera Gyannath temple in the temple, there were priests Nachhatar Nath, Gardari Lal, Varinder Nath present. Along with the camp, there was a room for these priests. After this the three priests took them to the room and raped them in turn. The priests were also supported by their driver Suraj Nath. After this he was arrested.

On Monday morning, Punjab State SC Commission member Tarsem Singh Sialka got the information, he immediately gave all the information to SSP Hick Vikramjit Duggal. Vikramjit Duggal, Duty Magistrate Jagseer Singh and S.C. While going to the camp along with the member of the commission and rescued the victim women, Nachhatar Nath and Suraj Nath, who were named in the rape, have also been arrested.
At present, after conducting medical examination of the victim’s women, they have started raids to arrest the other two accused who are absconding. Police of Lopoke police station have registered a case against the four accused for raping the women as hostages.
SP Amandeep Kaur told that a statement is being made in the court of both the victims. According to the police, due to not having a female child, she had been coming to the Sri Ramathirth Temple to ask for a vow with her family. In the past too, both women had reached the temple with their families. The said accused took him hostage and drove his family away from there.
