Due to the Coronavirus lockdown, many citizens of India are trapped in other countries, which the government is planning to bring back.

Coronavirus continues to wreak havoc in more than 185 countries of the world along with India. More than 2 lakh people have died in the world from Kovid-19, whereas in India, more than 800 people have lost their lives. To prevent the spread of corona, lockdown has been imposed in many countries of India as well as in the world. Lockdown is in force till 3 May in India. Many citizens of India are stuck in other countries due to the lockdown, which the government is planning to bring back. For this, the Ministry of External Affairs has approached the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Air India, State Governments and Indian Missions abroad and started working on the plan to bring back those Indians who want to return home.
Government sources told The State that discussions are on, but will be brought back only after the nationwide lockdown is over. Sources said that special flights and regular flights will be resorted to to bring back the stranded Indian, but it will be implemented in different ways for different states depending on the situation of lockdown. For this, the citizens have to pay for the tickets.
Let me tell you that since March 24, thousands of Indians are stranded abroad, especially in Gulf countries. On the other hand, Indian diplomats are being pressured by the Gulf countries to take back their citizens.
There have been particular political demands in India for the return of people working in those fields, especially from Kerala. On this issue, the Ministry of External Affairs is working closely with the State Governments and the Indian Mission abroad and is registering the Indians who want to return. Indians stranded in many countries will be brought back, but the money for flight tickets will have to be borne by the citizens themselves.

All domestic and international flights are banned due to the lockdown. India has brought back many Indian nationals trapped abroad before the lockdown is implemented. There has been a lockdown in India for more than a month to reduce the spread of COVID-19. The lockdown has been extended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi till 3 May, as cases of highly infectious diseases had increased. There are more than 26,000 coronovirus cases in the country, 824 people have died.
