Mob lynching in Palghar Maharashtra: Villagers beaten to death on suspicion of being thieves
Palghar (Maharashtra). Three people were beaten to death by a group of villagers in Maharashtra’s Palghar district on suspicion of being a thief. Police gave this information on Friday 17 April. Inspector Anandrao Kale of Casa Police Station said that this gruesome incident took place on Thursday between 9:30 am to 10 pm. The incident occurred at a time when lockdown is in place to prevent the spread of the corona virus.
He told that the identity of the three has not been identified yet. Kale said that the bodies of the three have been sent to the government hospital in Palghar for postmortem.

He told that all three came from Mumbai by car and his vehicle was stopped by the locals on the Dhabari-Khanvel road near Gadchinchale. They told that they were taken out of the car and the villagers attacked them with stones and other things on the suspicion that they were thieves. Kale said that a case has been registered in connection with the incident. No arrests have been made so far in this case.
