Renowned artist Satish Gujral dies at 94, PM Modi tweets condolence
Renowned artist and architect Satish Gujral has passed away. He was 94. Ranjit Hoskote, who belongs to the art world, said on Friday that Gujral died here late on Thursday. “He was unwell for some time,” he told PTI. Awarded Padma Vibhushan, Gujral was an architect, painter, graffiti artist and graphic artist.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the death of Satish Gujral, saying his firm commitment helped him overcome adversity. Modi said in his tweet that Satish Gujral was a versatile personality. He was respected for his creativity and strong commitment, which helped him overcome adversity. He said that Gujral’s intellectual curiosity took him much further. The Prime Minister said, ‘I am saddened by his demise. om Shanti.’
His major works include alphabet frescoes on the wall outside the Delhi High Court. He also designed the Belgian Embassy in Delhi. Gujral’s artifacts are a reflection of the ups and downs of his early life, including his childhood illness that impedes his hearing ability and the division of the country.
Hoskote tweeted his condolences, saying, “In the early 1950s, Gujral had gone to Mexico City to study with Diego Rivera and Sequeros, unlike many of his colleagues who went to Paris or London. Gujral was rich in versatility. May his soul rest in peace. ‘
