new Delhi. During the nationwide lockdown under the Corona crisis, the Union Finance Minister has announced to give LPG cylinder free for 3 months under the Prime Minister Ujjwala scheme. This will benefit 8.3 crore women. The Finance Minister said that under the Ujjwala scheme, BPL families will get free cylinders for three months. This will benefit 40 crore rupees families of the country.

Let us tell you that under the Prime Minister Ujjwala scheme, customers get free gas connection. However, the benefit of change in this scheme will be available only to the customers joining from 1 August 2019. The oil companies have decided to postpone the EMI recovery plan by July 2020. Know about the scheme Under the Ujjwala scheme, the customer gives a stove and an LPG cylinder.

Its total price is Rs 3,200. In this, the government gives a subsidy of Rs 1,600. At the same time, oil companies give the remaining Rs 1,600 as loan to customers. Customers have to pay it in the form of EMI. Customers purchasing 14.2 kg cylinders will not have to pay any EMI on the first 6 refills. EMI will begin with the seventh refill.

Similarly, if you buy a 5 kg LPG cylinder, you will not have to pay EMI on the initial 17 refills. You will get full amount of subsidy .. How to apply for Ujjwala scheme? Any woman of BPL family can apply to get gas connection under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.

For this, you have to fill the KyC form and submit it to the nearest LPG center. For application in PMUY, a 2 page form, required documents, name, address, Jan Dhan bank account number, Aadhaar number etc. are required. While applying, you also have to tell whether you want to take 14.2 kg cylinder or 5 kg. You can download the application form of PMUY from the website of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. You can also take the application form from the nearest LPG center.

Applicant should be a woman whose age is not less than 18 years. Women should be from BPL family. It is mandatory for a woman to have a savings account in a national bank. There should not be any LPG connection in the applicant’s house in the name of anyone. Applicant should have BPL card and BPL ration card.
