Chidambaram Supports the lockdown, said- Prime Minister Modi commander and public infantry in the fight against Corona
Delhi. Congress leader and former Finance Minister P. Chidambaram has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to lockdown the country for 21 days to prevent coronavirus infection. Chidambaram has appealed to the citizens to think of the Prime Minister as their commander in this difficult time and act on their sayings like a soldier. To deal with this difficult time, Chidambaram has also suggested a ten-point formula to the government. He said the lockdown would add to the trouble. In such a situation, it is necessary to provide cash and ration assistance to the people immediately, so that people do not have to come out of the houses.
He said that due to the lockdown people would need money and food. In such a situation, we have to make arrangements not only for 21 days, but also for a few weeks after the lockdown. In his suggestions to the central government, Chidambaram has requested to make people’s salaries and jobs secure.
Ten point suggestion of former finance minister
- The amount of 6 thousand rupees to be got under the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi should be increased immediately to 12 thousand. The increased amount should be credited to the beneficiary’s account immediately.
- Apart from this, 12,000 rupees should be given to the tenant farmers giving the benefit of this scheme.
- 3 thousand rupees should be added immediately to the accounts of registered laborers in MNREGA. If a beneficiary gets twice the amount due to a mistake in Aadhaar seeding, then this mistake should be ignored in this situation. Even if the payment of 15 percent amount is done in this way wrongly, it is still right to do it.
- To provide relief to the urban poor, 6 thousand rupees should be added to their Jan Dhan account immediately. While doing this, care should also be taken of the zero balance accounts which were opened before the Jan Dhan Scheme was started.
- All ration card holders should be given 10 kg of rice or wheat absolutely free within the next 21 days.
- All registered employers should not be asked to retrench a person. The government will give one month’s salary to the employees, it should be guaranteed to the companies.
- Banks should be instructed to extend the EMI payment deadline to June 30.
- From 1 April to 30 June 2020, GST rates on all essential goods and services should be reduced by 5 percent.
- Chidambaram said that even after those who do not get the benefit of the scheme, then they should be allowed to write their details and Aadhaar numbers on a register in the wards of all blocks.
- After investigation, the government should transfer Rs 3000 to the account of all such people who have registered their names in the register.
