IndiGo Offers Rs 10,000 Travel Vouchers to Severely Impacted Customers

Airline Responds to Flight Disruptions With Vouchers, Refunds and Compensation

IndiGo has announced that it will provide travel vouchers worth Rs 10,000 to passengers who were severely impacted by the airline’s recent flight cancellations and operational disruptions.

The vouchers are in addition to refunds and any other compensation passengers are entitled to under aviation rules.

Who Can Get the Voucher?

IndiGo said the travel vouchers will be given to passengers whose journeys were significantly affected during the intense disruption period — especially between December 3 and December 5, 2025.

This follows days of widespread flight cancellations and delays that left many travellers stranded, frustrated, and forced to make alternate plans.

What Else the Airline Is Doing

In addition to the Rs 10,000 vouchers:

  • IndiGo has already processed refunds for cancelled flights for affected passengers.
  • The airline is expected to offer regulatory compensation (from around ₹5,000 to ₹10,000) to passengers whose flights were cancelled on short notice, as provided under aviation rules.
  • Bookings can be rescheduled without extra fees for travel affected during the disruption period.

Why This Move Matters

IndiGo — India’s busiest airline — faced an operational crisis in early December, with thousands of flights cancelled across major cities.

The disruptions hit travellers during the peak holiday season and drew heavy criticism from passengers and consumer groups. The airline has since been under pressure from government regulators and courts to address refunds and passenger distress.

Offering vouchers is part of the carrier’s effort to restore confidence among flyers and ease the inconvenience caused by sudden cancellations.

Tips for Passengers

  • Check eligibility: Contact IndiGo customer service to confirm if you qualify for the Rs 10,000 voucher.
  • Use early: Vouchers usually have a validity period — read terms carefully before travel.
  • Combine benefits: Vouchers can be used along with refunds and flight rebooking options.
  • Keep records: Save booking details, cancellation emails or messages, and refund confirmations when claiming vouchers or compensation.
