Punjab Cop Missing for 4 Days, Bloodstained Car Discovered; Search Intensifies

A Punjab Police constable with the state intelligence department has been missing since Tuesday night, sparking an intense search operation after his car was found abandoned with bloodstains near Bhanra village in Patiala.

Satinder Singh last spoke to his family around 9 pm on Tuesday, shortly after leaving his office in Mohali for his home in Samana, Patiala district. He told his wife he would be home soon, but when he didn’t arrive within two hours and his phone became unreachable, his family grew worried and alerted the police.

His recently purchased car was later found abandoned near Bhanra with visible bloodstains inside, deepening fears for his safety. Despite an extensive search, including divers scanning the Bhakra canal, there has been no sign of him so far.

“We are exploring all possible angles. The vehicle has been seized for forensic examination, and technical surveillance is on to trace his movements,” said a police officer involved in the investigation.

Satinder, who routinely commuted between Mohali and Samana, reportedly had no disputes with anyone. He previously served in the special security team of then Mohali SSP Sandeep Garg, and was later transferred to the intelligence headquarters as Garg’s personal security officer when the SSP was posted there.

His father, Karnail Singh, an Army veteran, has urged the police to intensify efforts to find his son. “We expected Satinder home by 10 pm. He has a four-year-old son. We have no idea what happened — he had no enmity with anyone. We appeal to the police to do everything to trace him,” he said.
