Former US President Donald Trump announced on Monday the opening of an office in Palm Beach, a Florida city to which he moved to reside after ending his term last Wednesday, which will be responsible for his public statements.

“Today, 45th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, formally inaugurated the Office of the former president, “said a brief statement from that new agency.

He specified that this new office will be responsible for managing correspondence, public statements, appearances and official activities “of President Trump.”

The idea is to “promote United States interests and continue with the Trump Administration’s agenda through advocacy, organizing and public activism, ”he stresses.

The Republican, who will face his second impeachment trial in the US Congress in February, this time for the assault on the Capitol on January 6, currently resides in his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida.

“He will always be an ombudsman for the American people,” said the first statement from Trump’s office, who arrived last Wednesday to settle in his club minutes before Biden assumed the Presidency at a ceremony in Washington, which he refused to attend as is traditional.

The former president faces impeachment for his responsibility in the assault on the Capitol on January 6, which left five dead.

The seizure of the Capitol was led by Trumpistas promoted by the then president who has argued without evidence that the elections that gave Biden the winner were fraudulent.
