Millions of clients of the tax preparation computer program, TurboTax, should have already received the money from the second stimulus check, but this did not happen due to an IRS error which caused a delay in said delivery.
Payments will be deposited into the same bank account in which customers received their 2019 tax refunds and many will be available from today Friday, as disclosed by TurboTax, although this will vary depending on the bank to which the money is going to fall.
Customers of many tax preparation program companies, such as TurboTax, H&R Block, Jackson Hewitt, and others, noticed earlier this week that their corresponding second stimulus checks had been deposited into unknown bank accounts, as reported on CNBC.
Businesses were quick to notify taxpayers that the IRS had erroneously deposited payments into temporary “transfer” accounts that customers had accessed in previous years.
The IRS said these mistakes were made because of the speed with which the second stimulus checks were required to be sent.
For the moment, It was announced that the IRS has corrected the problem and this Friday it will be depositing the money in the correct bank accounts from TurboTax users and from other companies.
