Kate Ferdinand decries Donald Trump response to US Capitol riots compared to BLM
Kate Ferdinand has unveiled a striking image which compared Donald Trump’s response to the recent US Capitol riots as opposed to the Black Lives Matter protests of 2020.
The 29-year-old new mum – who recently welcomed baby son, Cree, with Rio Ferdinand – took to social media to express her thoughts about the recent US turmoil.
On January 6, the US Capitol was stormed by hundreds of pro-Trump supporters while the number of police deployed to stop the riots appeared to be lacking.
Kate has joined many on social media that have pointed to a stark contrast between yesterday’s dramatic scenes – incited by president Donald Trump – and the amount of riot police used against the Black Lives Matter marches.
In the former TOWIE star’s Instagram story, Kate unveiled a black and white image of what appeared to be two identical signs.
The top statement read: ‘When the looting starts, the shooting starts – Donald J. Trump. May 29, 2020. Responding to BLM protests.’
The message was compared to the message the Donald Trump shared yesterday as rioters ransacked the US Capitol.
‘Go home/ We love you. You’re very special. […] I know how you feel. Donald J. Trump. January 6, 2021. Responding to white nationalists’ attempted coup, breaking into the U.S. Capitol and forcing U.S. Senators & Congressmen to shelter in place under their desks,’ read the second.
Kate has joined a growing list of celebrities that reacted with disgust and pointed out the stark contrast between the official reaction to yesterday’s events as opposed to the peaceful BLM protests that took place in 2020.
“The irony is pretty funny………weren’t people just wild animals in the summer for demanding justice and now?……Let me just watch,” wrote Cardi B.
Ice T added: “Just imagine for a second if BLM tried this BS.. Just sayin.”
