Lucy Fallon has to explain she's not really in Dubai after mocking influencers
Lucy Fallon was forced to explain she wasn’t actually in Dubai after having a cheeky pop at reality stars showing off their lavish holidays.
She had a dig at them with some savage Instagram posts on Saturday – but some of her followers just didn’t twig.
A gaggle of TV personalities are out in the Middle East and some are even being paid to promote the country via social media.
Love Island stars Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury were criticised for going out for the warm weather break weeks before Christmas.
Chloe Ferry, Gabby Allen, Georgia Steele and Olivia Bowen last week joined mass of stars seeing in the New Year in the UAE as they partied as posh clubs in the mega-rich city.
TOWIE’s Amber Turner, Dan Edgar, Yazmin Oukhellou and James Lock all welcomed 2021 in with a trip to Dubai too.
Most have explained their trips have been for “business purposes” – with many sharing their plans on their social media pages.
Former Corrie favourite Lucy pretended she was invited out there too with some hilarious posts.
But some of her followers got a bit confused – and she had to clarify she was in Fleetwood, not near the Burj Khalifa.
Lucy received one message slating her for “living her life on holiday while some people can’t pay the bills”.
She re-posted it, saying “Honestly, someone help me.”
The actress then went on to upload some very sarcastic images of the sea front, writing: “She’s back… look at the Burj!”
Then she posted two comparison shots – just in case there was still some confusion.
She took to Instagram on Saturday to mock those partying in the UAE while most Brits are having to stay at home.
She uploaded three Stories from a freezing beach in Lancashire, joking that it was the sunshine destination.
“Can’t believe I’m in Dubai for 2021 xxx” she mocked on the first one, before adding: “Look at this dubai sand” with a sad looking shot.
A third was a selfie with a familiar theme.
“HNY from Dubai” she posted as she wore a thick coat and hood as she took a chilly walk.
Reality stars have come under fire for leaving the UK as the pandemic worsens.
They have jetted nearly 5,000 miles away to escape the current Covid-19 restrictions as most of the country is plunged into Tier 4.
The stars have been seen sipping cocktails in lavish bars and dancing the night away some of the best night clubs in the world.
On New Year’s Eve Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Health and Prevention reported 4 deaths, 1,730 new coronavirus cases – bringing the total number of recorded cases in the UAE to 207,822.
“Info for influencers promoting Dubai!” John and Edward wrote on Twitter.
“It has coronavirus but doesn’t have rights for LGBTQ+ so please stop promoting countries where it’s criminal to kiss the one you love!”
