Mazda repeats the formula and launches the CX-30 TURBO in the United States | The NY Journal

A couple of months ago Mazda surprised with the launch of the Mazda 3 in its Turbo version, giving more power to some of its cars more valued with the recent generation. Now, the niopona firm seeks to repeat the formula in another of its models, it is the Mazda CX-30 TURBO.
Mazda announced the availability of its turbocharged Skyactiv engine for the Mazda CX-30, and although it is the same four-cylinder powerplant used in the Mazda3, has the potential to turn the Mazda CX-30 into a sports crossover.
This four-cylinder engine gives these models strong performance, with nothing more and nothing less than 253 hp and 420 Nm of maximum torque. The bad news is that they will not be available for Europe because these engines are banned because of their CO2 emissions.
According to information from Diariomotor, the power of the Mazda turbo engine decreases to 230 hp if regular gasoline is used, the equivalent of the 91 octane gasoline available in some European countries. Mazda’s Skyactiv Turbo engine shifts its power exclusively to a six-speed automatic gearbox and torque converter, and the brand has announced that the TURBO version of the CX-30 will be sold only in all-wheel drive versions.
Differentiating a CX-30 TURBO from the versions that are not, is complicated, however there are some aesthetic elements that will let you know that you are facing a TURBO, such as the two exhaust pipes in the rear and black housings shiny, plus a small rear emblem where you can read the word “TURBO”.
In addition to this, the 18-inch wheels also have a glossy black finish that is quite characteristic of Mazda. Inside there are no changes.
The new Mazda CX-30 TURBO will be available later this year in the United States, priced slightly above $ 30,000.
