Skunk Anansie’s Skin has revealed that she got engaged during lockdown after her partner popped the question while the pair were cooped up amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The Masked Singer star accidentally dropped her engagement bombshell when she appeared on Elevenses with Danielle Perry podcast.
53-year-old singer, whose real name is Deborah Anne Dyer, let slip her exciting news while chatting about the challenged she faced in her relationship during lockdown.
Skin admitted that while it’s been ‘a real test’ for some people, her relationship with her partner has never been stronger, and the whole ordeal brought them closer together.
The newly-engaged star then revealed exactly how close it brought them together when she excitedly announced that she’s due to tie the knot.
“Lockdown has been a real test of a relationship,” she explained.
“A lot of people are like ”Wow, we really didn’t get on and that was the end of that relationship, because I realised in two months of being in lockdown that we’re not the same people.’”
She then let slip: “And some other people, like me, got engaged.
“You know what, I think you’re the first person I’ve told. Oops!”
The bi-sexual singer, who shot to fame in the early nineties, was previously in a civil partnership with environmental advocate Christiana Wyly.
The pair split in 2015 after a whirlwind romance.
Earlier this year, Skin shot back onto our TV screens when she appeared on hit ITV show The Masked Singer.
After weeks of speculation, it was finally revealed that she was the voice inside the giant duck costume.
Once the secret was finally out, she decided to shed some light on the infamous costume which she said was “quite awful in many ways”.
The legendary British rock singer described it as “heaven and hell”, and explained that it was a struggle to wear the costume, which weighed about two stone.
“It was extremely heavy. The heaviest part was the head, which meant my shoulders ached,” she said.
After Skunk Anansie split in 2001, Skin embarked on a solo career, before the band eventually reformed in 2009.
