Carabao Cup fourth round draw time, ball numbers and TV channel

[ad_1]

The second round of the Carabao Cup finishes on Thursday night, but straight after the final whistle thoughts will turn to the fourth round.

The late start to the 2020/21 season means this year’s tournament is a more condensed affair, with draws being held early to help make up time.

It means that the fourth round draw will be held before third round fixtures are played.

Therefore four teams will be drawn out for each tie on an either/or basis, with the final tie confirmed next week once the results of third round matches are known.

When is the Carabao Cup draw?

The fourth round draw will take place on Thursday evening after the conclusion of the second round match between Brighton & Hove Albion and Portsmouth.

That match kicks off at 7.45pm, so fans can expect the draw to be held shortly after 9.45pm.

However, should the match between Brighton and Portsmouth go to penalties, the fourth round draw is likely to be delayed.

What channel is the Carabao Cup draw?

The draw – along with Brighton vs Portsmouth – will be shown live on Sky Sports.

Laura Woods will be hosting and former Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie selecting the ties.

Sky Sports’ Main Event and Football channels will be showing the Carabao Cup action, which can also be streamed through Sky Go and Now TV apps.

Carabao Cup ball numbers

Ball numbers are yet to be confirmed for the fourth round draw.

However each ball will have two teams linked with it. Essentially, each ball will represent a third round tie (e.g. Lincoln City vs Liverpool ), with the winners progressing to play the fourth round tie later in September.

When is the fourth round?

Carabao Cup fourth round ties will be played in the week beginning Monday September 28.

That’s a week after third round ties which are being played next week between Tuesday September 22 and Thursday September 24.

Four matches will be selected for TV coverage, while the others will be streamed in the UK in the following ways:

  • EFL Club vs EFL Club – streamed on iFollow or club equivalent service
  • EFL Club vs Premier League Club – streamed on carabaocup.live
  • Premier League Club vs Premier League Club – streamed on carabaocup.live
