Furious Gordon Ramsay labels fans who mocked his £19 fry up ‘idiot sandwiches’

Gordon Ramsay has hit out at fans who criticised the latest breakfast dish that would be joining the menu at one of his restaurants.

The professional chef proudly shared “the most amazing Full English” with his 7.4 million followers on Twitter, which will available to order from his Savoy Grill restaurant menu from September 21.

Customers will be charged £19 for the brekkie, which includes two eggs, one sausage, a few strips of bacon, one tomato and one mushroom.

But after receiving a barrel of complaints about the dish which Savoy Grill’s menu described as a “quintessentially British breakfast,” he was forced to reply with one of his most brutal and classic insults of all time.

One fan compared it to a huge breakfast from the Fry Up Police

Many people criticised the steep price, while others asked “where’s the rest of it?”, which could either be a reference to the typical hefty portions that English fry ups are typically known for, or that Gordon’s dish was missing a few traditional ingredients like hash browns and black pudding.

But there was one comment that Gordon refused to ignore, as he unleashed his famous “idiot sandwich” comeback.

The man shared a snap of a fry up made by the ‘Fry Up Police’ who label themselves as: “The Worlds Number One Authority On The Great British Fry Up” with the caption: “THIS is a full English Gordon. Take a leaf out of @fryuppolice ‘s book….”

Gordon – who clearly was having none of it – replied in his usual witty way, writing: “That’s called a Full English Classic Heart Attack you idiot sandwich” adding a sandwich emoji for good measure.

“Idiot sandwich” is one of Gordon’s famous phrases that he coined in a parody of his show “Hell’s Kitchen” for an episode of “The Late Late Show with James Corden” in 2015.

After the video was aired it went viral and quickly became a well-known internet meme.

Other fans in the comment section however were more disappointed with the side dishes.

Not so much the selection on offer, but the price of each extra.

If you are looking to increase the size of your traditional full English, be prepared to pay the £5 per extra price tag.

Sides include: St Ewe egg – any style, smoked salmon, pork sausage, smoked backed bacon, black pudding, grilled mushroom and tomato.

One disappointed fan wrote: “Can’t wait for you to try it!!!!! Are the sides £5 each or is that for all of them???? Who is mug enough to pay a fiver for one sausage??? Get a grip GR.”

And another added: “£19. If you want black pudding, it’ll cost you an extra fiver. File under ‘rip off’.”
