Gogglebox rich list unveils the stars raking in thousands from their sofa

Gogglebox is back tonight for a fresh series, fans desperate for a dose of the cast’s legendary armchair wisdom.
Stars have come and gone from the show, and for some it’s even been a launchpad for careers moving forward.
Things are looking pretty good for the current cast, too, as a Gogglebox rich list estimates how much each star is raking in per Instagram post.
The show’s massive popularity means each star has a hefty Instagram following, with the study by EST1987 calculating potential earnings based on numbers of followers.
Below are the top 13, ranked from lowest to highest.
Amira Rota (@amira_gogglebox) – £4.30 per post

Schoolgirl Amira’s earnings means she can bring in an extra £17.20 a month.
This means £206.40 a year – Amira’s smiley brand of honesty pays off!
Tremaine Plummer (@trem_vi) – £14.19 per post

One of the three Plummer brothers, the trio have become renowned for their close-eyed laughing fits as they break down the week’s telly.
And Tremaine even boasts more than 3,000 Instagram followers.
This means the chef can command nearly £60 a month and nearly £700 a year just from posts.
Twaine Plummer (@twaineaplummer) – £16.34 per post
Twaine, meanwhile, can draw in slightly more, his followers pushing 4,000.
The footballer’s Instagram earnings can be around £784 in a year.
But one brother remains for the list…
The Siddiquis (@thesiddiquis) – £16.34 per post
The first family on the list, this father-son-son trio command the same as Twaine Plummer.

While dad Sid is retired, Umar is an NHS microbiology expert, and Baasit teaches at a secondary school.
Tristan Plummer (@trissy101) – £35.26 per post
The last of the Plummer brothers, footy star Tristan is the first on the list to top a grand in yearly Instagram earnings.
This means he can earn more than £140 a month – not too shabby!
Louis Michael (@louisrmichael) – £44.72 per post

Louis, mum Carolyne and dad Andrew are one of Gogglebox’s most recognisable three-parters.
Sisters Alex and Katie have both made appearances, as has another son, Pascal.
As a student, Louis can earn more than 2K a year from Instagram.
Stephen Webb (@stephengwebb1971) – £288.96 per post
Responsible for one of Gogglebox’s most iconic lines (“Not a f***in’ terrorist, though, Chris!”), Stephen has solidified his fan-favourite status.

With over 67,000 followers, the hairdresser can earn nearly 14K a year from Instagram.
Stephen appears on the sofa with hubby Daniel, having previously starred alongside best mate – and one time flame – Chris.
Ellie Warner (@Ellie_warner) – £477.30 per post

The Ellie and Izzi sister act are some of Gogglebox’s most recognisable stars.
And it’s working well for Leeds native Ellie, who can earn nearly 23 grand a year with her posts.

Slipping in just ahead of her sister is Izzi, who’s yearly earnings are over 23 grand.
The pair stirred controversy during the last series as they took aim at PM Boris Johnson – never change, girls!
Tom Malone (@tommalone) – £528.90 per post

Hunky model and dancer Tom would no doubt have a serious following even if he weren’t a star, but no doubt it’s helped.
Earning over 25K a year on Instagram, Tom and his family are one of the show’s most popular families.
Tom, mum Julie, dad Tom Snr, and brother Shaun are joined by their dogs each week, as well as a plate of biscuits or cakes that always goes mysteriously untouched.
Pete Sandiford (@sandifordpete) – £645 per post

Brother and sister Pete and Sophie can crack up over just about anything as they swig their tea.
The Blackpool pair are fan favourites, 26-year-old Pete bringing in more than a staggering 30K a year.
But he just falls behind his sister…

Shop window dresser Sophie, meanwhile, can earn more than 37 grand a year.
Leading us onto the top of the board…
Jenny and Lee (@jennyandlee_gogglebox) – £1,001.90 per post
At the top of the list – and managing to earn more than a grand for each post – are Jenny and Lee.
The pair, who comment on the week’s offerings from Jenny’s caravan, are best mates, and boast brilliant onscreen chemistry.
Both are now retired, having met years ago when Jenny was Lee’s local pub landlady.

And they even topped a recent poll of fans’ favourite stars, snatching up nearly 40% of the vote.
Raking in more than 48 grand a year, Jenny and Lee are well and truly the fans’ favourites.
