Ryan Seacrest has spoken out about the announcement that sent shockwaves around the globe.
The executive producer of Keeping Up With The Kardashians looked back at the legacy the hit reality show will leave behind, and admitted that the footage was “magic” from the get-go.
Last night, Kim Kardashian stunned her social media followers after announcing that KUWTK will air it’s last season in 2021.
Responding to the announcement, Ryan discussed the show’s “amazing run” as he credited Kris Jenner for her “incredible” business skills that ‘made the show what it is’.
Speaking on Live! With Kelly & Ryan, the E! star gushed: “I almost feel like I’m family with her, and she is truly an amazing partner and I think one of the savviest business people on the planet.”
He added: “Think about how she manages family and how she manages an incredible empire. It’s no small task, and she has really propelled that franchise and those businesses into what they are today.”
Ryan recalled how the show first kick-started a whopping 14 years ago, after Kris invited him round for a family barbecue.
Admitting that the footage was “magic” from the start, Ryan said he pushed E! network to give the show a chance.
He added: “Thank you to the Kardashians, who changed entertainment forever, I think.”
After launching the reality TV show in 2007, the family went on to become huge stars with 18 seasons of the show airing on the E! network.
Last night an emotional Kim took to Instagram to announce that the show was coming to an end in a poignant post.
The mum-of-four – who stars on the hit series alongside mum Kris, sisters Kourtney, Khloe, Kylie, Kendall and brother Rob – penned: “To our amazing fans –
“It is with heavy hearts that we’ve made the difficult decision as a family to say goodbye to Keeping Up with the Kardashians.”
She went on: “After what will be 14 years, 20 seasons, hundreds of episodes and numerous spin-off shows, we are beyond grateful to all of you who’ve watched us for all of these years – through the good times, the bad times, the happiness, the tears, and the many relationships and children.
“We’ll forever cherish the wonderful memories and countless people we’ve met along the way.
“Thank you to the thousands of individuals and businesses that have been a part of this experience and, most importantly, a very special thank you to Ryan Seacrest for believing in us, E! for being our partner, and our production team at Bunim/Murray, who’ve spent countless hours documenting our lives.
“Our last season will air early next year in 2021.”
She concluded: “Without Keeping Up with The Kardashians, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I am so incredibly grateful to everyone who has watched and supported me and my family these past 14 incredible years.
“This show made us who we are and I will be forever in debt to everyone who played a role in shaping our careers and changing our lives forever.
“With Love and Gratitude, Kim.”
The next season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians returns on September 17, while the last season of the hit E! show is set to hit our screens in 2021.
