James Rodriguez completes Everton transfer to link up with Carlo Ancelotti again

James Rodriguez has completed his transfer from Real Madrid to Everton as he links with up Carlo Ancelotti for the third time in his career.
The Colombia international, 29, has put pen to paper at Goodison Park to join forces with the Italian boss he also played for during spells at Real Madrid at Bayern Munich.
James had struggled for game-time under Zinedine Zidane at Real last season, making just eight La Liga appearances with only one of those coming after October.
He will hope to kickstart his career on Merseyside under Ancelotti, with whom he played some of his best football at Real and during a loan spell at Bayern.
He said: “I’ve come here to try to improve, to get better. I’ve also come here to help the team to win, to play good football – entertaining football.
“I am really, really happy to be at this great club, a club with so much history, and here with a manager who knows me really well,” James told evertonfc.com.
“I’m looking forward to achieving great things here – and winning things, which is what everyone’s aim is.
“I’m convinced, with Carlo and his technical staff, we can achieve big things and one of the big reasons [I signed] was the presence of Carlo Ancelotti.
“I’m a winner, I’m a real winner. I think the seriousness and determination to win trophies can lead to silverware.”
The attacking midfielder won the Golden Boot at the 2014 World Cup, when he scored a memorable goal against Uruguay in the second round stage.
That strike and his performances throughout the competition caught the eye of Real, who snapped him up that summer after impressive spells at Porto and Monaco.
James would spend the next six seasons as a Real Madrid player, although two of those came on loan at Bayern for whom he scored 15 goals in 67 appearances.
Ancelotti has shown a willingness to go with what he knows in what is his first summer transfer window as Everton boss, having last week brought in Brazilian defensive midfielder Allan from his former club Napoli.
Allan, also 29, is believed to have cost around £21million, and arrived at Goodison Park having spent the previous eight seasons in Serie A at Udinese and then Napoli, who he joined in 2015.
