Gogglebox star Lee Riley has been forced to spend his 52nd birthday away from his partner Steve Mail.
Due to quarantine rules to enable him to take part in the Channel 4 series, he must spend his special day away from his beloved.
As Lee returns to our screens with best friend Jenny Newby in their Hull caravan on Friday, today he was wished a happy birthday by his on-screen sidecick.
Jenny wrote on their shared Twitter account: “A big happy birthday, to my couch potato, and best friend lee have a great day much love jenny xx.”
The pair have also shared shots from filming the series in the caravan, confirming that they are once again isolating together as a household.
Now back in the caravan together, Lee has posted images of posted them both with full glasses in hand, surrounded by booze, their trusted television and shots of those iconic caravan curtains.
They also wrote: ” Gogglebox Series 16 take 1. See ya at your house Friday 9pm.”
Lee was penned an emotional goodbye from his partner of 27 years on social media as he departed Cyprus for filming in the UK.
The pair had enjoyed a farewell dinner together as they said their fond farewells.
Steve wrote: “Never tire of this peaceful and chilled idyllic hideaway thanks for a fabulous time Lee Riley safe journey back to Blighty.
“Love you to the moon and back #vounikinghotelandrestaurant #cyprus2020 #gogglebox #series16.”
At least Lee has Jenny to keep him company!
The best friends became pals 21 years ago when Jenny was a landlady at a pub in Paull, East Yorkshire, and Lee was a regular punter.
And Lee, who jokingly admitted he regrets going in the pub, made an awkward remark about Jenny’s hair when they first met – good thing she didn’t hold it against him!
As the Covid-19 pandemic hit its height and the Gogglebox cast remained on our screens, Jenny and Lee isolated together in the caravan and gave us many laughs along the way.
Gogglebox returns to Channel 4 on Friday at 9pm.
