In the second T20I against Australia, England went for a review and challenged the on-field umpire’s decision even as the ball clearly hit the middle of Australia captain Aaron Finch’s bat.

England sealed the 3-match T20I series against Australia by defeating the visitors by 6 wickets and taking an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the 3-match series on Sunday in Southampton. The hosts were almost clinical in all the departments of the game as they gave no room to the number one ranked T20I team to bounce back after losing 2 quick wickets at the start of their innings.
It would not be wrong to say that England pushed too hard at times, so much so that they ended up taking one of the most bizarre reviews, ever since the Decision Review System (DRS) was introduced in the game.
Adil Rashid, while bowling in the seventh over of the match, bowled a delivery which was dealt by Australia captain Aaron Finch by introducing the middle of his best but England tried to make it a ‘special delivery’ by taking a review, much to the surprise of everyone.
The replay showed the ball hitting the middle of Aaron Finch’s bat in the sweetest possible manners. This review was so ridiculous that even England wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler had a laugh.
The fans also took notice of the absurd incident and took to twitter to troll the England side, which is on a winning march in all the formats of the game.

Aaron Finch, who scored 40 runs, was Australia’s highest scorer in the match. Finch was also involved in a vital 49-run partnership with Marcus Stoinis.
