Arsenal youngster sends message to Arteta after call-up to first-team training

Arsenal youngster Salah-Eddine has been called up to first-team training by Mikel Arteta and didn’t hide his ambitions in a social media post.
The Gunners have a host of their regular stars away on international duty, leaving them light on numbers.
And Salah-Eddine, who is just 17, has been invited to train with the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Nicolas Pepe.
The teenager though is not about to be intimidated by the situation and posted and picture of himself and Arteta on Instagram with the caption: “kid on a mission”.
Salah-Eddine left Feyenoord earlier this year and was a free agent before he was signed by the north Londoners.
He joined the club’s Professional Development Phase ahead of the new season and was poised to run out for the Under-18s and Steve Bould’s Under-23s side.
Salah-Eddine was thrilled to join Arsenal and, ironically, pinpointed training alongside the club’s first-team as a major goal in his debut season.
“It feels great to join a massive club like Arsenal,” he told their official website.
“It’s a good environment for me to work on my development and hopefully through the academy I can become a first-team player.
“First I want to become an important player in the under-23s and then eventually get involved with the first team in some capacity.
“I want to see what that’s like, but above all else I want to have a really good season with the under-23s.
“Maybe if I do that then I’ll be able to join the first team here and there in training. Those are my targets.”
Salah-Eddine has described himself as a box-to-box midfielder who is equally capable of playing with both feet.
