Thiago Alcantara and Georginio Wijnaldum have dominated the headlines in terms of potential arrivals and departures for the Reds.

However, it is still unclear over whether Liverpool will allow Wijnaldum to leave, or whether Klopp actually wants to sign Thiago.

Georginio Wijnaldum has reportedly reached ‘advanced talks’ with Barcelona over a proposed move in this transfer window.

That is according to Spanish newspaper Sport who claim that the 29-year-old has agreed terms on a three-year deal at the Camp Nou.

It is understood that the Dutch international would cost around £15million as a result of less than 12 months being left on his current contract.

While no concrete offers are believed to have been made, Liverpool could face a decision on whether they stick or twist in this transfer saga.

Thiago decision ‘has been made’

Thiago is not expected back at Bayern Munich for the new season

Reported Liverpool transfer target Thiago Alcantara is believed to have made a decision on where he wants to play next season.

According to Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick, the Spanish international is unlikely to play for the German club again and looks set to leave after recently winning the Champions League.

Flick kept his message short and simple when asked about Thiago’s future – fuelling speculation that he will be on his way to Anfield.

He said: “I assume that he will leave us. I think his decision has been made.”

Liverpool are reportedly set to allow Nat Phillips to pursue other opportunities away from Anfield on a permanent basis.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Klopp is prepared to allow the defender to leave Anfield in this transfer window to allow for a slight rebuild of the squad.

Phillips has enjoyed loan spells away from Liverpool including a move to Stuttgart last season, and his performances have attracted the interest of multiple Championship clubs.

Blackburn Rovers and Bristol City are reportedly interested in signing the defender, who looks set to leave Merseyside before the end of the transfer window.
