Nuno Espirito Santo stalling on new Wolves contract due to transfer concerns

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo is stalling on signing a new contract due to worries over his transfer funds.
The Portuguese who is desperate to kick on after two consecutive seventh place finishes knows that will entail some lavish spending.
But the popular Molinuex chief is aware that the club’s owners are tightening the purse strings and are prepared to wheel and deal.
It’s why he is holding back on agreeing a new three year deal – his current one has less than 12 months to run – concerned that he will not be able to bring in suitable reinforcements.
His mood hasn’t improved following the encouragement Spurs received in their pursuit of adventurous full back Matt Doherty.
He saw the Republic of Ireland international as an integral part of his squad but Tottenham have cliched a deal worth around £15 million.
It’s the sacrifice the Wolves hierarchy are prepared to make to harden their interest in £20 million rated Arsenal player Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

And as revealed by Sunday Mirror/Sunday People Sport the club will allow fans favourite Adama Traore to leave if a bid in the region of £40 million is received.
Nuno wants Athletic Bilbao defender Unai Nunez who has a £27 million release clause but he is unhappy that Wolves owners Fosun International are insisting the books are balanced.
That, he believes, could halt the club’s progress leaving him with doubts about his long term future at the club.
