Bella Hadid and The Weeknd have endured a courteous reunion at the MTV Video Music Awards one year after they broke up.
While a run-in with an ex might be the idea of hell for many, 23-year-old Bella and 30-year-old music star The Weeknd, aka Abel Tesfaye, appeared to survive a reunion with smiles on their faces.
The 2020 MTV Video Music Awards are due to take place in New York on Sunday night with Wicked Games singer The Weeknd nominated for six awards, while Bella is expected to present a gong.
The pair had an on-off romance between 2015 and August 2019 – with the duo blaming their hectic work schedules for their split last year.
However, fate is bringing them back together for this weekend’s celebrations – and the pair have already crossed paths at a rehearsal on Friday evening.
The Daily Mail reports an eyewitness stating: “They played it cool and crossed paths with each other, same place, same time.”
The insider went on to claim American reality star and model Bella and the Canadian pop sensation are: “on good terms.”
While the report explained: “supermodel Bella was spotted at the NYC shoot location the same day that Grammy-award winning artist Abel wrapped up rehearsals for his upcoming performance.”
It is unclear if Bella will be handing an award to her former lover as part of the ceremony.
Meanwhile, the VMAs will be held at various locations in New York City on Sunday night as organisers plan to put on a socially distanced compliant show.
Lady Gaga, Ariana range and Miley Cyrus are among the A List stars expected to perform at the show.
While Hollywood actress Keke Palmer is set to host the star studded event.
The awards show is set to air in the UK on Monday night via MTV.
