Piers Morgan says he’s an A-list celeb as he’s got more followers than Madonna

Piers Morgan has declared himself as an A-list celebrity on the basis of having more Twitter followers than Madonna.
The outspoken Good Morning Britain host, 55, proudly drew the conclusion during yet another disagreement on social media.
Initially, Piers tweeted out at his followers who believe the coronavirus pandemic is over, telling them to unfollow him on Twitter.
He wrote: “I think it might be easier if all those who’ve deluded themselves into thinking the pandemic is ‘over’ to unfollow me.
“There are plenty of T-list celebs & ex-sportsmen who agree with you – so follow them & read what you want to hear, then you won’t get so angry all the time.”
But Piers’ tweet struck a chord among other Twitter users, one of which hit out at the telly presenter.
His critic penned: “I never followed you Piers. But there’s a difference between thinking it’s over and it’s under control/ realising the country needs to get going or go bust. Btw are you an A list celeb?”
To which Piers proudly drew the conclusion by responding: “Well, I have three times as many followers as @Madonna, so….”
Piers this week found himself in the midst of yet another Twitter war, this time with Carol McGriffin.
He opted to hit the block button on Carol’s Twitter profile as he wanted to curb her “mindless conspiracy c**p” from his feed.
Loose Women panelist Carol, 60, was unimpressed when she found out that Piers blocked her on social media after she branded his stance on coronavirus “hysterical bulls**t”.
Carol hit out at Piers on more than one occasion.
Speaking on Kevin O’Sullivan’s TalkRadio show last night, she said: “He’s got a book out about free speech. The blurb on it is basically saying people can’t debate anymore and they just shut people down.”
She went on: “I’m thinking: Hang on – here’s the blocker who’s shutting people down because he doesn’t want to hear what I’ve got to say to him. The hypocrisy is absolutely breathtaking.
“I’m going to show people show people how intolerant he’s become of any kind of dissent, especially when it comes to this virus.”
However Piers managed to get the last word in, tweeting back to a clip of her radio interview.
Piers penned: “Oh Carol, it’s got nothing to do with curbing your free speech.
“I don’t want to stop you talking your mindless covid conspiracy theory c**p – I just prefer not to endure hearing it.
“I blocked David Icke for the same reason.”
