CPL 2020: Mohammad Nabi leads St Lucia Zouks to big win, Pierre propels Knight Riders to 5th consecutive win

Mohammad Nabi’s career-best figures helped St Lucia Zouks clinch their fourth win in six matches, against St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in the first match of the day.

Nabi set the tone for the Zouks, who opted to bowl first, with two wickets in the first over of the match and then another two in his second. Nabi picked up a maiden 5-wicket haul in T20s as the Patriots struggled along to put up 110/9 in 20 overs, their highest scorer Ben Dunk (33).

After a brief shower, the Zouks resumed needing just 81 at well under 5 an over, which made Deyal’s hoick the first ball all the stranger. Emrit took a good catch to leave Imran on a hat-trick, which the ever-calm Chase denied him comfortably. Roston Chase (27*) and Najibullah Zadran (33) saw out the rest of the chase for St Lucia Zouks.

Trinbago make it five in five

In the second match of the day, all-round Trinbago Knight Riders thrashed Guyana Amazon Warriors by seven wickets to register their fifth successive victory in the CPL 2020.

Sikandar Raza cleaned up Brandon King, whereas Khary Pierre deceived Chandrapaul Hemraj and Nicholas Pooran to leave the Amazon Warriors 12/3. Pollard sensed blood, putting himself under the helmet practically on the batter’s toes.

Keemo Paul made 28 off 26 to push the score past 100 but Knight Riders never really let the game slip away from them.

Darren Bravo and Tim Seifert collaborated for an unbeaten 63-run stand to ease the side home to a win in the 19th over as Knight Riders maintained their unbeaten run.
