PM Modi wrote in his tweet on Sunday, “On Kargil Victory Day, we are remembering the courage and determination of the Armed Forces, who protected the country in 1999. Today is the 21st anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas. It is a symbol of valor and might of the Indian Army. The whole country is paying tribute to the soldiers martyred in the Kargil war. According to the news agency ANI, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Minister of State for Defense Shripad Naik and the three army chiefs paid tribute to the martyrs at the National War Memorial on the 21st anniversary of India’s victory in the Kargil War.
On this occasion, the President of the country Ramnath Kovind said in his tweet, “Kargil Victory Day is a symbol of the fearlessness, determination and extraordinary valor of our armed forces. I bow to the soldiers who fought the enemy and Bharat Mata Sacrificed his life to protect the nation. The nation is eternally grateful to him and his family. “
