Addressing his tweets to Shivraj Chouhan, Kamal Nath said had he followed safety protocols and not joked about coronavirus, he would have remained safe today.
Senior Congress leader and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath today said he is sad to hear that CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan has tested positive for coronavirus, but this could have been avoided had he not joked about the pandemic and taken it seriously.
In a series of tweets, Kamal Nath said, “Shivraj ji, I am quite pained to hear that you have tested positive for coronavirus. I pray that you recover at the earliest. But I regret that when we (Congress) were serious about Covid-19, you said we were creating a drama and that it was a ploy to save the Congress government.”
Kamal Nath’s tweets came hours after new broke out that Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan has tested positive for coronavirus. Chouhan shared the news on Twitter in the morning. “I had symptoms of Covid-19. In the test report I was found positive. I appeal to all my colleagues that whoever has come in my contact to get tested for coronavirus. My close contacts should move to quarantine,” Shivraj Chouhan said in a tweet.
Addressing the tweets to Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Kamal Nath said from the beginning itself the Congress had been saying Covid-19 is a serious disease and one needs to be careful about it and follow all safety protocols.
“Perhaps even you could have protected yourself from Covid-19. Perhaps had you followed the protocols and not joked about it, you would have remained safe today. Whatever, I hope you recover soon and return to work.”

Meanwhile, earlier in the day, Shivraj Chouhan in a tweet said he will be reviewing the status of coronavirus infection in Madhya Pradesh through video conferencing as much as possible.
He said in his absence, the meeting to review the coronavirus situation will be held by Home Minister Narottam Mishra, Urban Development and Administration Minister Bhupendra Singh, Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang and Health Minister Prabhuram Choudhary.
