Rajasthan Political crisis
While the political drama between two factions in the Rajasthan government continues, former Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia has put up a tweet hitting out at the party and backing his “erstwhile colleague” Sachin Pilot.
Jyotiraditya Scindia, who joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in March this year, has said that he is said to see Sachin Pilot too, being “sidelined and persecuted” by Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.
He further said that it shows that “talent and capability find little credence” in the Congress party.
“Sad to see my erstwhile colleague, @SachinPilot too, being sidelined and persecuted by Rajasthan CM,
@ashokgehlot51. Shows that talent and capability find little credence in the @INCIndia,” Jyotiraditya Scindia’s tweet read.
After the 15-month old Congress government in Madhya Pradesh crumbled with Jyotiraditya Scindia’s rebellion, the Congress has once again landed itself in deep crisis in Rajasthan.
The fast-paced political developments in Rajasthan began on Friday after Ashok Gehlot launched a volley of allegations at the BJP, accusing it of trying to topple his government by offering bribes to Congress MLAs to switch sides.
If sources are to be believed, the flashpoint between Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot and his deputy Sachin Pilot was a probe ordered by the state police into “poaching” of MLAs and a notice sent to Pilot, which has not gone well with him.

The Special Operations Group (SOG) of Rajasthan police registered the case on Friday under IPC sections 124-A (sedition) and 120-B (conspiracy) on the basis of “facts” which came up during interception of two mobile numbers, sources said. The move came after the SOG on Friday registered an FIR against two people, who have been detained, for their alleged involvement in horsetrading of Congress MLAs for toppling the Gehlot government.
Official sources on Saturday had said that Rajasthan Police’s SOG all set to record the statements of Gehlot, his Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot and the government’s chief whip Mahesh Joshi in the matter.
Amid all of this, Sachin Pilot has landed in Delhi with 12 of his loyalists to meet the Congress leadership. According to some media reports, the MLAs from the Sachin Pilot camp have been lodged at different locations in the national capital. Meanwhile, Sachin Pilot remains untraceable.
