After the appointment of Hardik Patel, the Congress is trying to make its meeting in the financially prosperous Patidar community. Before the Lok Sabha elections, Hardik Patel, associated with the Congress, campaigned for Patidars promising jobs and educational institutions. After leading by Paresh Danani in the state assembly, the two top places have been occupied by leaders of the Patidar community.
Danani is an MLA from Saurashtra while Hardik Patel comes from North Gujarat.
