Amidst growing corona, all schools in Delhi will be closed till 31 July, study online
On Friday, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia held a high-level meeting with the officials on the plan to reopen schools in Delhi. Experiences related to continuing education through various channels were also discussed during the lockdown. In the meeting, suggestions related to making specific plans according to different classes were discussed. Apart from this, it was also agreed that keeping in view the current circumstances, the schools should be closed till July 31 for the present.

Apart from this, it was also agreed that keeping in view the current circumstances, the schools should be closed till July 31 for the present.
Recently, Manish Sisodia wrote a letter to Union Human Resource Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and requested to consider the new role of schools. He wrote that we still have to decide whether we will reconstruct our schools keeping in mind the needs of our country and society or we will wait for some other country to do something, after that we copy paste it here.
District wise report based on online suggestions of 829 teachers, 61 school heads, 920 students and 829 parents of government and private schools of Delhi and 23262 teachers and 98423 parents at school level were considered in the meeting. Deputy Education Officers of the Directorate of Education presented these reports to Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in the presence of Education Secretary and Director of Education.
There was a suggestion about primary classes that one or two classes should be held in a week of 12 to 15 students. There was a suggestion to apply in class 3rd to 5th alternate days. There were also suggestions for students to continue online education as far as possible, proper sanitization in all classrooms, distribution of masks to students, thermal screening at the time of entry of each student to school and reducing syllabus.
Similarly, for classes 6th to 8th, it was suggested to do classes in small group once or twice a week. Some people also suggested a class 3 days a week. Many people insisted on reducing syllabus from 30 to 50 percent. There was also a suggestion to ban the mass activity and crowd of students.
For classes 9th and 10th, there was a suggestion to do classes in small group on 1 or 2 days of the week. Some people suggested daily class for class 10th. There was a suggestion to continue online class, videos of YouTube channel, Khan Academy.

It was suggested to conduct classes of 11th and 12th on alternate days and online education in remaining days. There was a suggestion of reduction in their syllabus as well. Some people suggested that only 3 to 4 hours of class should be done per day.
In the meeting, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said that we should make such a plan to reopen the schools in the light of all the suggestions that can also teach the students to live with the corona and prepare them for a new role in new circumstances.
