Railways cancels contract with Chinese company, 20% work was already done
new Delhi. Railway company DFCCIL has canceled the contract given to the Chinese company Beijing National Railway Research and Design of Signal and Communication Group. This company was given a contract worth Rs 471 crore for the 417 km signaling and telecom of Kanpur-Deendayal Upadhyay railway section.
This contract was given to this Chinese company in the year 2016, but even after 4 years, only 20 percent of the work was done. In such a situation, the Railways has canceled the contract of the Chinese company.
According to the information, the Chinese company was showing negligence in work despite the receipt of this contract, had become negligent about the technical documents required under the contract agreement. Apart from this, many times engineers of the Chinese company were found absent at the place of work.
The Chinese company had not even signed agreements with local agencies, due to which the work was not going ahead. Not only this, the Chinese company could not even procure the goods required for the work. In every meeting with the officials of the Chinese company, this matter was being raised, but in spite of this the work was not going forward. Even after 4 years, only 20 percent work was done.
