SRK helps baby on railway track who tried to wake dead mother, says, he understands the feelings
few days ago, a viral video of a baby trying to wake up his dead mother at a railway station in Bihar caused widespread rage, highlighting a clear humanitarian crisis in India right now. The images that circulated like wildfire showed the body of a 23-year-old woman lying on one of the platforms in Muzaffarpur, as her child tugs and pulls at the bedsheet that’s covering her.
According to reports in a leading daily, officials said the woman had died moments before boarding a special train that the Indian government is running for hundreds of underprivileged migrant laborers stuck in big cities due to the ongoing coronavirus lockdown.
SRK steps in
When Shah Rukh Khan’s team came across the heartbreaking video clip, it was further brought to the actor’s notice and he immediately did all he could to reach out to the baby. After a struggle, Meer Foundation joined hands with the star and helped him locate the child.
Taking to Twitter, SRK retweeted a post made by the organisation. He wrote, “Thank you all for getting us in touch with the little one. We all pray he finds the strength to deal with the most unfortunate loss of a parent. I know how it feels…Our love and support is with you baby.” In the tweet, the actor also thanked those who helped in making the mission a successful one.
SRK also shared that he and his team pray that the child finds the strength to deal with the loss, as he knows just how difficult it is, first hand.
Post this, the Meer Foundation mentioned that they are now supporting the little one and he is under the safe care of his grandfather. Later, SRK’s team shared an image of the baby looking healthy and happy with his grandad.
You’re a true hero, SRK! We love you.
