After lockdown extension, now refund oftrain ticket till 31 July
new Delhi. Senior Railway officials say that after extending the lockdown period of the Prime Minister, a meeting of the concerned officials in the Railway Board was held immediately. The meeting decided that now people will get time till July 31, 2020 to give their refund for canceling the tickets of canceled trains. Prior to this, on March 23, the railways had increased the time for taking the cancell ticket for 3 months. Before that, refund had to be taken within 72 hours.
The official said that during the extended period of lockdown, the refund of the passengers who have booked their tickets online will automatically go away. Their money will go to the same account from where the payment was made. If someone paid with a credit or debit card, then the money will go there.
Those who have deducted the counter ticket, they will have to go to the counter to get the ticket canceled. After the lockdown opens, the time limit for cancellation of tickets has been extended till 31 July 2020, so that the counter does not increase. Dialing the 139 number will also be done to get the refund of the ticket. Those who cannot cancel tickets online will have to call this number.
