Flight tickets become expensive amidst preparations to open lockdown
new Delhi. The 21-day lockdown implemented due to Corona virus is going to end on 14 April. Even after the 14th, whether it will be removed or not, the situation is not clear yet. However, private airline companies have issued flight bookings from April 15. The situation is that due to high demand and flexi fair, the air fare from April 15 to 21 has increased manifold.
The maximum increase is in flights from Delhi and Mumbai to Patna, where the fare has been 4 times more than usual. It is running 3 times on many other routes as well. However, after April 21, this situation is reversed. From then till May there is a tota of customers. Due to this, the fare is running below normal after 21 April.
The former chairman of the Airport Authority of India has said that the passengers traveling now will be under compulsion so that the government should take care that the airlines do not charge more. On this, the DGCA said, “When the decision to end the lockdown is done, we will definitely take care that private airlines do not charge more than the people’s compulsion to charge higher fares.”
