In the Ramayana, Ravana took Sita away to Lanka. Shriram and the entire monkey army were engaged in search of Sita. Then Hanumanji crossed the sea and reached Lanka and found Mata Sita. Hanumanji and Sita met in Ashoka Vatika of Lanka. At that time, Hanumanji removed all the worries of Mother Sita by giving the message of Shri Ram. Pleased with this, Sita gave Hanumanji the boon of being immortal. Hanumanji will live forever with the effect of this boon, he will never come to old age.

Special things related to worship
Get up early in the morning on Hanuman Jayanti and worship after bath. Hanumanji should be offered jaggery, coconut, laddus as offerings. There is a law to do three circumambulation of Hanumanji. In the afternoon, Bajrang Bali can be offered to a churma made with jaggery, ghee, wheat flour.
In the evening, fruits like bananas, sevaphal etc. should be offered. While performing the Sunderkand, Hanumanji should also offer vermilion, jasmine oil and other worship materials.
Vermilion mixed with sesame oil or jasmine oil should be applied in make-up of Bajrang Bali. The devotee should follow celibacy.
