Chhattisgarh: twins born in lockdown, son named Kovid, daughter named Corona
Raipur. There is a situation of complete lockdown across the country due to Corona virus. During this time, someone can come or go somewhere. During the lockdown, two twins were born to a family in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh. The family named these children Corona and Kovid.
In Raipur, Chhattisgarh, the couple surprised everyone by naming their children such a name. The couple named the girl Corona and the boy’s name Kovi among their twins. Even though these two words have created an atmosphere of fear in the whole world, but this couple has adopted these words forever.
On the night of 26-27 March, these two twins were born in a government hospital in Raipur. Preeti Verma, a 27-year-old mother of newborns, said that on March 27, a boy and a girl were born in their house. After this, we named him Kovid (boy) and Corona (girl). He told that the delivery of the children happened after facing many difficulties. For this reason my husband and I did this to make this day memorable. The newborn’s mother said that it is in fact a dangerous and deadly virus.
However, it has made people focus on cleanliness and other good habits. So we thought of these names. When the hospital staff also started calling the children as Corona and Kovid, we finally decided their name after the epidemic.
