Changes made in railway ticket refund rules, can be canceled after 3 months
new Delhi. Railways have introduced a new system to reduce the movement of passengers to stations to prevent the infection of Corona. Under this, the railway has now extended the time limit for taking payment of cancell tickets to 3 months. Tickets can be refunded for up to 3 months from the date of journey of passengers. Significantly, till now ticket cancellation payment could be taken within 72 hours.
These options will remain
- If the railway cancels the train, the passenger of the counter ticket can take three months i.e. Saturday 21 March to 21 June.
- If the passenger wants to cancel the ticket himself, he will have to claim the TDR from the railway station in 60 days and claim it for 90 days.
- The passenger can cancel the ticket through OTP by calling 139. Ticket cancellation can take up to 3 months.
Railways canceled all trains
till 31 March No rail will run till 31 March. According to the railway, only goods trains will run from 22 March midnight to 31 March midnight. Railways run 12500 passenger trains, with an average of 23 million people traveling every day.
