Jharkhand/ Rajasthan’s Bhawna created history in Ranchi, second race walker to qualify Tokyo Olympics
Ranchi 23-year-old female race walker Bhawana Jat of Rajasthan qualified for the Tokyo Olympics by setting a new national record at the 20 km race walk in Ranchi. Bhavna attained this position in the third International Race Walking Championship held at Moharabadi. Bhavna completed the race in 1 hour 29 minutes 54 seconds in 1 hour 31 minutes 29 seconds in New Delhi’s Baby Soumya in 2018. Bhavna is the first woman player from India to win the race before an hour and a half. At the same time, in the men’s category, Sandeep Kaer of Haryana won the gold, Rahul from Haryana won the silver and Vikas Singh from Jharkhand won the bronze.
Bhavna Jat has not played any international event yet
Bhavna takes training from her coach Gurmukh Sihag on the road around Sawai Mansingh Cricket Stadium in Jaipur. So far, I have not participated in any international event at junior and senior level.
