The wait is over! KKR, RCB announce their full schedule for IPL 2020

Kolkata Knights Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have announced their schedule for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 is set to kickstart on March 29 with defending champions Mumbai Indians locking horns with arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai in what will be the season opener. While the complete schedule of IPL 2020 is not officially out yet, the franchises have started to reveal their respective schedules with Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore being the latest to join the bandwagon.

While KKR would be hoping to lift their third IPL title after revamping the squad in the auctions, RCB will be looking to end their trophy drought and add a piece of silverware to their cabinet. Both KKR and RCB will start their campaign by facing each other on March 31 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. After taking on KKR in their opening match, RCB’s next home match will be against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 7 followed by a match against Rajasthan Royals on April 18.  RCB’s first away encounter will be against defending champions Mumbai Indians on April 5 followed by a clash against strong-looking Delhi Capitals on April 10.

KKR’s first home game at the iconic Eden Gardens, Kolkata will be played against Delhi Capitals on April 3 followed by another home game against Chennai Super Kings on April 6.

With both RCB and KKR bolstering their squads with some interesting and explosive picks in the auction, it will be interesting to see how both the teams do in the upcoming season of IPL.

According to reports, the schedule for the league phase was only rolled out to the franchises on Saturday with the dates for the knockouts set to be announced later. In a new, there will be no doubleheaders on Saturdays and to accommodate extra matches, the league stage has been extended by a week. The league stage of IPL 2020 will now run for 50 days as opposed to 44 days last year.
