Hyundai Motor India today unveiled the new Creta at the Auto Expo 2020. The second-generation Hyundai Creta 2020 launch will take place in India in March. The first-generation Creta was introduced in the country in 2015 and ever since then, it has been the mid-size SUV segment leader. However, the Creta has lost a major part of its market share to new vehicles like Kia Seltos and MG Hector. The all-new Hyundai Creta will look to achieve the popularity of the outgoing model and reach the numero uno position in its segment.
The 2020 Hyundai Creta comes with a completely refurbished front fascia. Now, there is a new 3D cascading grille. The second-generation Creta gets a split headlamp setup, where the LED headlamps have been stacked in the bumper along with the boomerang-shaped LED DRLs. The turn indicators have been position above the headlights. The skid plate has been placed below the grille and is flanked by fog lamps. The flared wheel arches, roof rails, side sill garnish and 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels add a lot of sportiness to the new Creta’s side profile. At the rear, features like LED taillamps, LED high mount stop lamps, rear spoiler and skid plate accord the Hyundai Creta 2020 a very dynamic look. Now, the CRETA emblem is positioned in the centre of the tailgate, above the number plate. The new Creta also features a panoramic sunroof.
Although Hyundai Motor India has not officially revealed the interior details of the 2020 Creta, we must tell you that the second-generation mid-size SUV gets features like an over 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, multifunction steering wheel, tilt and telescopic steering, automatic AC and premium seat upholstery, among others. The new Creta is also equipped with the Blue Link connectivity technology
While there is no word from Hyundai Motor India regarding the engine details of the 2020 Creta yet, reports have claimed that the new Hyundai Creta will have the same set of BS6-compliant engines that are available with Kia Seltos. Now, the Seltos has three engine choices — 1.5-litre petrol, 1.5-litre VGT diesel and 1.4-litre Turbo GDI petrol. Other than the standard 6-speed manual gearbox, there are automatic options like IVT (1.5-litre petrol), 6-speed AT (1.5-litre VGT diesel) and 7-speed DCT (1.4-litre Turbo GDI petrol).
At present, Hyundai Creta price hovers in the range of Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 15.67 lakh (ex-showroom). We are expecting the 2020 Hyundai Creta price to be between Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom). Following the Hyundai Creta 2020 launch, the mid-size SUV will go up against Kia Seltos, MG Hector, Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV500 and Jeep Compass
