no Salman Khan or Ranveer Singh but its Akshay Kumar in Dhoom 4

While the news reports have been saying that Akshay Kumar along with Salman Khan and Ranveer Singh has been approached to play the lead in Dhoom 4, an industry source now confirms that Khiladi Kumar has been finalised for the role. Earlier, John Abraham, Hrithik Roshan and Aamir Khan played the antagonists in the first three films in the Dhoom franchise, respectively.
An industry source has confirmed to Bollywood analyst Atul Mohan that Akshay Kumar has won the race to become the next ‘bad man’ in Dhoom 4. He took to Twitter to inform the fans.
He wrote, “A highly placed source has revealed that #AkshayKumar has been confirmed for #Dhoom4. Let’s wait for official announcement soon.”
This is not the first time that Akshay Kumar’s name has surfaced as the lead contender for the role. Earlier, in October last year, a news publication confirmed that the actor is very much a part of Dhoom 4.
But later, Yash Raj Films, in a statement, rubbished the reports and said that no such developments have taken place. The statement read, “The article Dhoom to get Khiladi’s touch? printed in today’s Mid-day is absolutely incorrect and baseless. Dhoom is an extremely important franchise for us but currently, we do not have an idea or script for Dhoom 4. We are always available to clarify any and all queries and strongly urge and request you to kindly double-check stories with us well in advance for us to be able to provide you with all accurate facts.”
The report mentioned above had suggested that Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra, who were part of all the three Dhoom films, may not appear in Dhoom 4. It also said that former Miss World Manushi Chhillar may play the female lead in the upcoming film.
In 2018, it was also reported that Salman Khan and Ranveer Singh are being considered for Dhoom 4.
Shah Rukh Khan’s name also made headlines for the same reasons in 2017. While Salman never clarified if the speculation was true, SRK rubbished the rumours.
